WELCOME TO COOKHOUSE CHILDREN FOUNDATION- Cookhouse Children Foundation established 2006 is a Community based Organisation.
- We live in a world where more than 16.6 million children have been orphaned by AIDS, 15 million in Sub-Saharan Africa alone. Cookhouse Children Foundation was founded as an urgent response to care for orphans and vulnerable children infected and affected by HIV/AIDS and the poor.
- Orphans not only are they facing the emotional trauma of dealing with the death of a parent but now have to worry about where their next meal will come from, how they will get to school and who will raise their siblings
- The circumstances faced by these children in their daily struggle to survive - to find shelter, food and safety from the dangers that surround them - demand a greater response from the entire community. CCF is committed to supporting community-based care programs that help children living in child headed-households, care homes for children orphaned by AIDS and in the entire community, and places of safety for the growing number of child victims of rape and abuse.
- Once just a dream for a community plagued by alcohol, drugs, crime and staggering rates of HIV, the CCF will become a powerful symbol of hope and all that is possible for the people of Cookhouse and its surrounding community.
